Frequently Asked Questions
How can I schedule an appointment?
You can book online by creating an account with Massagebook. This is the booking software I'm currently using to house my appointment schedule.
Are walk-in appointments available?
I do not accept walk-ins. Please visit my scheduling software to see my availability and set an appoinment.
Do you offer couples' massages?
I'm the only massage therapist in the practice, so a couples' massage is a back-to-back booking, not simultaneous.
What if I need to reschedule my appointment?
If you need to reschedule your appointment, you can log into your account and make changes anytime. There is a link in your confirmation notification to do so. For late notice cancellations, please contact me as soon as possible.
Cancellations without 24-hour notice may result in a full charge for your session, as that time has been set aside specifically for you.
What if I arrive late to my appointment?
Please arrive 10 minutes early for your appointment. Time for your appointment has been specially arranged for you. If you arrive late, your session will end at the scheduled time. Full payment for your scheduled services will be expected. If you are running late, please do communicate that to me.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept HSA/FSA, cash, Venmo, PayPal, credit card, and gift certificates.
A credit or debit card is required to reserve your appointment, however you are not charged for anything until after the appointment is completed. When it's time to pay, you may choose another form of payment or use the card on file.
A processing fee is added to credit card and PayPal payments.
Should I tip?
Tipping is always appreciated but never expected.
If you do choose to leave a tip for your service, the standard rate for tipping is 15% to 20% of the cost of service.
What to Expect at Your Appointment
What Should I Expect During My First Massage Visit?
I will greet you at the door of the Jeweled Collective and escort you to my private massage suite.
Once inside the treatment room, we will have a brief consultation to discuss any questions and concerns you may have.
You will then be instructed on how to prepare for your session. I will step out of the room to give you privacy until you are ready for your treatment to begin. Once you are ready, I will reenter the room to begin your session.
What Type of Massage is Best for Me?
This depends on what your goals are for your session.
We will have a consultation period to discuss concerns you'd like to address such as, for example, you are going through a particularly stressful time and want to focus on relaxation, or if you are having a pain due to a repetitive stress injury.
I practice as an integrated massage therapist, meaning I have a broad range of massage techniques in my toolbox. I have had training in Swedish, Lymphatic Drainage, Deep Tissue, Rolfing, Craniosacral, Buccal (intra-oral massage), Myofascial Release, Trigger Point, Cupping, Stretching, Prenatal and Pediatric, Sports, Reflexology, Spa Treatments, and Aromatherapy. During your session, a combination of techniques from any of these modalities will be utilized to customize your session to your tissue and goals.
Don’t Be Afraid To Speak Up!
Why is speaking up so important? This is YOUR session—and the experience is all yours. As a massage therapist I want you to enjoy every minute and benefit from your time with me as much as possible. If you would like anything changed—the pressure, areas worked, position, temperature, music, etc.—speak up! You will not hurt my feelings by asking for something that will make you feel more comfortable.
Do I Have To Be Completely Undressed? What Do You Wear for a Massage?
You may undress to your level of comfort. Many people prefer to keep their underwear on during a massage, while others choose to be nude under the massage coverings. However, it is never appropriate to be completely uncovered while nude in the presence of your massage therapist.
If you prefer to remain dressed, form-fitting clothes in light, breathable fabrics will be your best option; however, this may limit the therapeutic benefits as your massage therapist will not have direct contact with your skin and muscles.
Regardless of whether you choose to maintain some clothing or not, your massage therapist will always ensure that you are properly covered.
What If my Tummy Gurgles, I Snore, I Have Body Acne or Skin Conditions or Forgot to Shave?
Rest assured, massage therapists have seen, heard, and felt it all! Please do not feel uncomfortable or embarrassed. Your massage therapist is focused on creating a relaxing and therapeutic experience for you, and you cannot relax if you are anxious about your body’s function or appearance.
